Why is this call important?
The Ministry of Energy aims to ensure that Hungary transitions to a circular economy as quickly as possible and is taking measures that help turn waste into value.
The new KEHOP Plusz call specifically supports:
- the establishment or expansion of recycling capacities,
- the transition to more efficient, innovative technologies,
- the recovery of critical secondary raw materials,
- as well as the development of project-related infrastructure (halls, storage facilities, machinery).
The programme focuses on the following priority waste streams:
- plastics and glass (primarily packaging waste),
- electronic waste,
- batteries and accumulators,
- end-of-life vehicles,
- tyres.
Who can apply?
Business entities (companies), sole entrepreneurs and companies keeping double-entry accounts are eligible to apply.
What type and amount of funding is available?
The main figures of the draft call:
- Total budget of the call: HUF 15.10 billion
- Project size: minimum HUF 150 million, maximum HUF 5 billion in grant per project
- Type of support: non-refundable grant, but own contribution is required.
The aid intensity varies by region and company size, and can be as high as 65%. Projects must be implemented within a maximum of 36 months from the signing of the grant agreement.
Deadlines and timeline: when can you apply?
The call is currently under public consultation; comments on the draft can be submitted until 1 December 2025.
Submission of grant applications is expected to take place in four rounds:
- 1. Round: 15 January 2026, 14:00 – 31 March 2026, 23:59
- 2. Round: 7 April 2026, 00:00 – 31 May 2026, 23:59
- 3. Round: 10 June 2026, 00:00 – 31 August 2026, 23:59
- 4. Round: 6 September 2026, 00:00 – 30 October 2026, 23:59
