We have already summarised the background to the suspension and the budget increase in our previous post; we pick up from there now. Interest is strong: to date, 1,919 applications have been submitted, totalling HUF 42.3 billion. The increased overall allocation is HUF 150 billion.
The framework and rules are clear, and the focus is simple: developing your company’s production and service capacity at a site located in one of the four most disadvantaged regions or in a Free Enterprise Zone.
If you are a micro or small enterprise with at least one closed, full financial year, an average headcount of at least one employee in the previous closed year, and you implement the development in one of the designated areas, you are likely eligible to apply.
The following developments are eligible: purchase of new equipment and machinery; development of technological systems and capacities; real estate investment (modernisation/construction/expansion); as well as IT development and professional activities supporting implementation - in other words, exactly the items that improve performance and efficiency.
The financial parameters are straightforward: non-repayable grants of HUF 5–120 million are available, with a minimum 50% own contribution. Liquidity may be supported by an advance payment of up to 50% of the approved grant, capped at HUF 60 million. From the project start date, there are up to 18 months to complete physical implementation, which provides a safe planning horizon even in today’s supplier environment.
Applications may be submitted until 16:00 on 30 April 2026. However, if total demand reaches 130% of the allocation for a given window, the call may be suspended/closed - so it’s worth acting in time.
