The submission deadline for the call for proposals titled “Development of Cybersecurity Capabilities of the Domestic SME Sector”, under code SSNS-NCC-HU-FSTP-2026, has been amended. We previously published a more detailed summary of the main conditions of the call. In this article, we summarize the most important changes to the call, with particular focus on the extension of the submission deadline.

Applicants now have more time to submit their funding applications than originally announced: the new final deadline is 28 June 2026, 23:59. The phased evaluation schedule has also been extended, meaning that the remaining submission phases are as follows:

  • Phase 5: applications submitted by 14 June 2026, 23:59
  • Phase 6: applications submitted by 28 June 2026, 23:59

The aim of the call is to support Hungarian micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in improving their cybersecurity resilience and risk management practices. The scheme may be particularly relevant for companies seeking to strengthen the protection of their IT systems, data security, incident response capabilities, or preparedness in connection with the NIS2 Directive.

The funding may be used, among other things, for the purchase of cybersecurity tools, technologies and intangible assets, as well as for the use of certain cybersecurity services. Eligible activities may include, for example, endpoint protection solutions, firewalls, EDR/XDR systems, vulnerability assessments, incident response services, or security monitoring services.

The other parts of the amendment mainly contain administrative clarifications: certain references, evaluation criteria and legal references have been corrected. It is important to note, however, that the notice specifically confirms that server hosting/housing services remain ineligible costs.

The extension provides an additional opportunity for businesses that have not yet been able to finalize their funding applications but are considering cybersecurity developments.
