In connection with the Jedlik storage tender (Support for renewable-based energy generation and energy storage for businesses – 2025/MA/TAROLO/01), the same practical questions tend to come up repeatedly.

Below, we have highlighted five topics from the application FAQ that can significantly affect both project planning and the submission process.

1. Leased property, the electricity meter is not in the applicant’s name: can we still apply?

Yes. An application may still be submitted even if the property, the metering point, or the grid connection agreement is not in the applicant’s name. However, it is important that by the end of the project, the purchased equipment must become the property of the applicant.

Before submission (and until the funding decision), it is not mandatory to transfer the grid connection agreement and/or the metering point into the applicant’s name; a lease/use agreement between the applicant and the owner/lessor is sufficient, along with a relevant declaration from the owner/lessor.

2. Mixed-use building (workers’ accommodation, hotel, pharmacy, office–residential): can it be an eligible site?

Yes, but with conditions. The site is acceptable provided that the development does not serve a residential/housing purpose. In the case of a mixed-use building, the project must be aligned with the business-use part of the property.

3. Can we include the future consumption of electric vehicles, and is the charger an eligible cost?

In the calculation, the future consumption of electric vehicles may be taken into account. However, equipment required for electric cars is not eligible (for example: chargers, connectors).

4. Starting the electricity supplier/grid administration process: what must be attached?

Together with the application, the following must be submitted:

  • the connection request email,
  • its confirmation (if generated by the system),
  • and the completed connection request form.

It is important that the connection request specifies the size of the storage capacity to be installed.

5. Facility under construction, no occupancy permit yet: can we apply if it will be obtained before installation?

Generally, no. The project site is eligible only if the property already has an occupancy permit at the time the application is submitted.

There are two typical exceptions:

  • if the building was constructed before the introduction of the occupancy-permit obligation, and the applicant can credibly prove this;
  • if the investment is not tied to a building (e.g., a ground-mounted solar power plant or a containerized battery energy storage system).

If the building concerned does not yet have an occupancy permit and construction is still ongoing, the application cannot be submitted unless one of the two exceptions above applies. The occupancy permit must be available at the time of submission; later supplementation (whether at the time of the decision or during implementation) is not acceptable.
