The support coordinated by the Ministry of Energy and the National Energy Agency has a total budget of no less than 50 billion HUF, of which 25 billion is reserved exclusively for SMEs. This opportunity not only aims to reduce corporate utility costs but also contributes to relieving the load on the national electricity grid and reducing energy imports.
What does the grant support?
The scope of support is based on two main pillars:
1. Energy storage (eligible for standalone support):
- Procurement of equipment suitable for storing electric or thermal energy.
2. Related renewable energy generation (only in combination with energy storage):
- Construction of solar power plants, wind generators, and heat pump systems for own use.
- Procurement of hardware, software, and control systems.
- Related construction, engineering, and project management activities.
For example, feed-in to the public grid only or development for residential purposes exclusively is not eligible for support.
How much funding can be applied for?
The support amount ranges from a minimum of 10 million HUF to a maximum of 1 billion HUF.
Support intensity:
- Micro and small enterprises: 50%
- Medium-sized enterprises: 40%
- Large enterprises: 30%
Required own contribution: The portion of the total project cost not covered by the grant must be financed from own funds.
Who can apply?
- Legal entities (e.g., Ltd., Plc., Nonprofit Ltd.)
- Organizations with at least one closed financial year
For example, a company whose main NACE (TEÁOR) activity was solar energy production in the previous year and holds a MEKH license is not eligible. Applications in consortium form are not permitted.
